Nov 29

Yes holidays are finally here! Brace yourself for the teenage fashion swarming in and out of the shops and around the streets for 8 weeks. Teen fashion is all about looking good and feeling comfortable especially in hot weather. Sportsgirl is definitely the place to drop by these holidays with their new summer collections hitting the shelves. Like every summer in Australia we go for the bohemian hippy style. Sportsgirl has anklets, scarves and bracelets ready to go and at a good price too. Sportsgirl will also have you set to hit the beach with sandals, beach towels, hats and more.

I would say November has been quite chilled for fashion. Just cruzing along sticking to the same trends. But when is it time to move on from the same global styles? Something that I find so interesting in fashion is when will the next big, big! thing be. Jeans and high heels were discovered ages ago and are is still but when will we see the next fashion piece that will make history. That is what designers all over the world are trying to find. Come on designers! fashion lovers are relying on you to get something amazing for us to cherish. I hope when I will have my own label I can beat the effect of jeans on the world with one of my creations.

new128 048  You can wear these cute shoes with a simple white dress and it looks awesome!

Right now circle glasses and high-waist shorts are on the front cover of my magazine. Shorts are perfect for summer and they suit almost anyone. I wear mine with a pretty top and a necklace. Its effortless fashion, comfy and good for the beach too. Plus they look good on the backside. That’s what everyone wants right? Circle glasses are a nice little obsession of mine as well as my new Abbey Lee Kershaw inspired hair. They are small cute and cheeky and make you feel like the new rock star on the block.

Abbey Lee Kershaw
The Australian supermodel I think it is safe to call her. She turns heads with her kick-ass retro style, body and new hair cut that I recently stole. She is the face of Gucci “Flora” fragrance and is the face of Chanel's Fall/Winter 2010/2011 ready-to-wear ad campaign.

Slap on some bangles
For a prettyful look with your outfit.
Not just one or two though.
Pile them on both wrists
and enlighten your accessory side.

If your going for a hippy bohemian look
small bangles and bracelets look really cool
when you have heaps on both wrists all of
random colours and styles.

Make up

We all love our makeup to be easy to apply and to look effortlessly flawless. Especially in the summer so it doesn’t feel like a cake in the heat. For a chilled simple summer look go for the bare face look. It is simple and it embraces natural beauty and you won’t get smudges from mascara or too many pimples. All you need is foundation and a bit of powder (if you use both).

Glasses 2010
The chain Glasses have come back from 2004 when they were the librarian's must haves. But don't worry, they are cool now.

The unforgetable Lady Gaga frames.

This same shape has been used a lot this year in different designs. From nerdy glasses to sunnies, ideal for music festivals or just chilling at the beach. The design works on both women and  men too.

The beloved round glasses first adapted be stars such as john lennon are now offically 'hot stuff' again!

Vintage Glasses are beautifully unique and are perfect to wear with beautiful floral dresses.
Harry Potter/Owl style.

As you can see from the three pictures with this same style I have already put up, I am obsessed with these glasses!

Ray Ban style. They remind me of country music and cowboys.

Glasses are must haves for everyone, because as much as they pretect your eyes from the sun they also add a fashionable accessory. This year we have had quite a few different shapes of glasses. There has been the simple glamorous shapes and really random creations worn be Lady Gaga. If your stuck with what shape suits your face, usually big bug eyed glasses look good on everyone.

Creative Flair vs Trends

The essence of Fashion in clothes is the individual creativeness and beauty in wearable art. Something that shines above any other clothing. Living in Queensland from what I have seen so far true fashion coming from ones heart is rare and unless you are searching for it.

I think a lot of people put fashion aside, either because they are too busy and don’t have time or that the simply just can’t be bothered. Most people resort to the trend following option. After seeing it in the media or on someone else they copy and the next thing you know everyone is wearing the same thing and this goes on for months on end. The same clothes getting more old and boring every time you see them. It would be great if people could be more daring with fashion. Gabrielle Coco Chanel once said “fashion fades, only style remains the same” don’t be afraid the try something new. Create a style individual that belongs to you not someone else. Even if its just adding something else small and simple like a nice pair of shoes or a head scarf or even a bright colour of lipstick. I mean come on people we aren’t a pack of sheep here. I love to be individual, it is very important to me because Fashion and the arts are what get me through my bad times and I come out feeling good and happy. It’s a wonderful thing being able to dress up how you want to, have a great time and not have the alterations scare you. Experiment with fashion more and you’ll walk out a happier person. Fashion craves a little expression and creative flair.
re searching for it, it can be hard to find. Trends on the other hand are everywhere. I feel trends and Style are two different things. Style comes from the heart and trends from the media.

Fashion oct/nov

October has been a great month for fashion in Brisbane, we’ve had The Valentino Exhibition, Stella McCartney has her designs at target, Polka-dots have made there way back into fashion trends and Vogue tried to make a suitcase the new it bag.

Everyone is slowly changing into beautiful flowing dresses. In the city, around the streets, people are wearing gorgeous, flowing, floral dresses, with sandals, a shoulder bag and minimal jewellery. Head pieces, bows and headscarves add extra to the daily hair styles. Distinctive shaped sunglasses, for example circle and square are perfect because they are so cute and keep your eyes sun protected. Mix and matching of vintage clothing is comfortably sitting in most fashionistas wardrobes and rocking their everyday style too. Vintage fabric is great for spring because of the textures and pattern designs, which gives off a wonderful, fashionable vibe in style.

November is now here and looks like dresses and sandals are winners of daily dressing in Brisbane. The Melbourne Cup is currently on and the fashion is going off from the beautifully elegant dressed. In among the top 5 best dressed for the races is our Queensland finalist in an incredible Vintage styled dress in a light blue pattern and a wide-brimmed skirt. It is like a half ball gown and really stands out from all the slim bright designs most people are settling for this year so fingers crossed she wins the competition.
